Job Description
 Our client is a market leader in the nuclear power industry and this role is working from their UK head office near Slough. They are looking to recruit a graduate to work as an Assistant Finance Officer. The role will report into the Financial Officer and the purpose of the job is to be responsible for providing financial information and support to ensure the efficient operation of the Finance function and the business as a whole.
Main responsibilities of the role will be:

Business Partnering

Assist with supporting Functional budget holders:

  • Analysing actual costs vs forecast and budget
  • Guiding budget holders through the forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Be the Finance point of contact for specific budget holders

Forecasting and Budgeting

Assist the Finance team with the creation and recording of forecasts and budgets in the BPC reporting system.

Customer Invoicing

Assist the Finance team with customer invoicing processes, including the accurate recording of revenue across four manufacturing sites.

Month End

Process monthly recharges, recurring journals, and cost centre manager accruals and prepayments.

Input headcount figures into BPC reporting system for the business, performing an analysis of the Group headcount figures compared to budget.

Control Accounts

Analyse & reconcile SAP balance sheet accounts.


Support to the wider Finance team as required.

  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics or Maths
  • Relevant work experience in finance would be desirable
  • Experience of using MS Office applications including Excel & Word to an Intermediate level
  • Experience of Accounting Package/SAP Accounting would be desirable

Study support

  • Support will be provided to gain a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA)
