Our client was founded in 2010 but is already a leading independent power company in the UK. Based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire it builds, owns and operates small power plants around the UK to provide National Grid with key support services. They have continued growth ambitions over the coming years.

In this role you will provide a key function for the Company, being involved in the day-to-day running, inspection and maintenance of operational power plants around the UK but will be based from their Head Office in Leamington Spa.

Key Objectives of the role:

  • Routine site visits to UK sites in support of site-based team.

  • Attend site on a non-routine basis in the event of a breakdown or to accept a diesel fuel delivery or similar. Exceptionally, be available and able to attend on a 24/7 basis as “first responder” for faults.

  • Be able to undertake minor mechanical and electrical works, as well as control analysis and fault-finding, on the power plants. Undertake supervision of contractors as required.

  • Immediately be trained to act as a Competent Person under the company Safety Rules and undertake training to act as an Authorised Person within 12 months.

  • Run and test individual sites as required.



  • Qualified to Graduate level in relevant technical subject, preferably Electrical Engineering

  • Self-starter with keen technical acumen.

  • Need an understanding of High Voltage electrical generation and/or distribution systems, including their associated control/communications systems.

  • Helpful to have gained experience in a UK utility and/or infrastructure operator.

  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills and able to take responsibility.

  • Have a clean driving licence – company vehicle to be provided.
