Job Description

Essentra is a leading international supplier of specialist plastic, fibre, foam and packaging products with three Strategic Business Units: Component Solutions, Health & Personal Care Packaging and Filtration Products. Every day they produce and distribute millions of small but essential components. Their products may not be noticeable – or even recognisable – but wherever you are, their business is all around you. Their international network extends to 33 countries and includes 53 principal manufacturing facilities, 64 sales and distribution operations and 5 research & development centres.

They are looking for 2 Commercial Graduates to join the Components Division of the business based initially from their site in Jarrow, Newcastle.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively maximise all sales opportunities from inbound/outbound calls to all customer types including large customer portfolio, key account management and pipeline management within salesforce CRM.

  • Work to achieve pre-agreed sales and growth targets

  • Discover and understand the customers application requirements, ensuring cross selling and up selling of the product range

  • Industry sector knowledge required to introduce new products, custom solutions and revenue into customers end markets.

  • Win new business and maximise existing revenue through high performance telesales and excellent key account management.

  • Develop effective working relationships with team members, internal departments and other company divisions

  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales development activities.

  • Provide excellent service managing customer expectations to deliver on promises

  • Participate in team briefings and communicate with team members to address issues and develop a wider skill base.

  • Prepare and follow up sales quotations to customers, prospects and leads

  • Liaise closely with both the Range Development department and Product managers to develop new products and range expansion ideas

  • Operate effectively within current policies and procedures relating to pricing, order entry, lead times and telephone call monitoring programme

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the company product range

As part of this role you will also join the 2 year graduate development programme training alongside graduates from across the globe as well as being given the opportunity to train in key international locations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a numerate discipline

  • Work experience or a placement year in an analytical role

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Commercially driven, self-motivated and ambitious with a strong desire to succeed

  • Excellent leadership potential and the ability to work as part of a team

  • Excellent co-ordination and influencing skills as well as creative and problem-solving abilities

  • Capable of working under pressure whilst prioritising and manage time and workload effectively

  • A Full UK driver’s license and the ability to travel to other clients sites, which will include travel overseas.
